Can you tell more about your experiences?
Me too! Although it was by way of Texas, so the excellent weather isn't shocking my senses as much as if it had been direct.
Then after she died he changed the words a bit and re-released it.
Oh god I laughed so hard at that Kardashian thing.
So what did your professor say about the verdict?
When I went to school at MSU, I took an Asian History class and the professor made us watch a movie with incest, rape, and bestiality (dog fucking!) But most other the other professors were cool.
My grandma and I were walking through a park in the Chicago suburb where I grew up and a squirrel jumped on her head and kind of latched on as she spun around and frantically tried to tear it off. I don't think it bit her, but she was running around and screaming and I was completely terrified. I was only probably 6 or 7 at the time, and it didn't scar me for life or anything, but it was so strange. Never before or since have I seen a squirrel do something like that.
I don't know why, but whenever any crazy hillbilly/redneck (country singer or not) is interviewed about anything political, all I hear is that South Park line "THEY TERK ER JERBS!!!!"
looking for that sweet, sweet rebellious white pussy?
@Tweezergal: The University of Michigan is a public school.
@Bs Baldwin: So what if that is where Hayne lives? Santorum is a fucking psycho and has said plenty of other crazy bullshit before Hayne donated to the campaign.
Jesus Christ. My anger and indignation is NOT about the law. Reading comprehension: get some. Hey, how about if you don't want to go to prison, don't murder someone! Don't want to pay huge fines? Pay your taxes on time! Sage advice. Great wisdom. I don't care if pot is illegal or not. My point, which I stated above, was the OP's comment added nothing to the conversation and is completely obvious. "

"Don't blame the cops for doing their jobs". I don't even... how the fuck was that a part of my comment at all?
I don't care to argue whether or not it should be legal. My point was that the OP added NOTHING to the discussion. Everyone knows that pot is illegal. Everyone knows that if you get caught with marijuana you will get into some sort of trouble. The comment comes up on most drug threads and it is condescending and useless.
My point was that every time there is a discussion involving illegal or unsavory activity and the ways that people get caught or try to get around it, there is some asshole who pulls the "Welp, hows about you don't do X, and then you won't get in trouble!!" Which adds absolutely nothing to the dialogue. Everyone with a working brain stem knows that if you do something illegal and get caught, there will be consequences. I just feel like their comment was the Goodwin equivalent of a drug thread. Like, thanks Captain Obvious, you really contributed!
@El Rhiticko: Shut the fuck up. Look, I don't do drugs, but this idiotic answer that comes up every. single. time. there is a discussion about marijuana is so stupid and lame. It's like those anti-choice people who glibly say "hey, don't want to get pregnant, don't have sex." "Don't want to have a skiing accident? Don't go skiing!" Look how many problems we could solve if people just don't ever do anything! Genius!
@ExBomb: When you Google his name, all the hits are animal cruelty stuff. I bet this kid would trade a year-long jail sentence if he could escape the infamy of this. Stealing shit, getting into a fight, even a DUI can all be chalked up to being a dumb kid. Mutilating an animal for sheer joy and having that affiliated with you forever (or however long this shit lasts on the internet) is a Scarlett letter of shame and disgust. The taxpayers don't have to pay for his living expenses and he is punished by the almighty internet justice.
I guess I always just viewed her books the same way as the hugely popular "Left Behind" series. Both are based on interesting idea (neither of which I agree with, but not subscribing to an idea or philosophy doesn't stop me from enjoying a book in and of itself) But like the "Left Behind" books about the end times and the antichrist and all that crazy revelations stuff, it was just written so excruciatingly bad that I could barely get through it. For the record, I read all of Atlas Shrugged, half of The Fountainhead, and 3.5 Left Behind books. The one-dimensional characters, the laughable and unrealistic dialogue, the GOOD vs. EVIL and nothing in between, were all just tough for me to stomach. And the character names, my god the character names. Dagney Taggart! Hank Rearden! Raymond Steele! (I think that was one of the main characters in Left Behind) John Galt wasn't bad but my god, so many of those names were ridiculous.

But as someone mentioned earlier, the whole "bootstraps" argument that rich people are just better and smarter and if they had been born poor (which nearly all of them weren't) that their special snowflakeness would have catapulted them to the same place that they are right now, has been a GOP staple for decades. And I don't really see how that is necessarily "warping" what she intended to write.
@kitebro: oh sweet jesus that scene in chloe was ridiculous.
