@Private Hangnail: Just in case I die, I want to tell you with my last breath that I love you, Private. you've made me smile all week with your wonderful comments. xxoo
@ian spiegelman: Yeah, most men need & like restraints or so I've found.
@registered: The entire lower class: females, males, children were of no value in the Titanic. Gates were closed and locked. Or that's what I recall from a PBS documentary I watched long ago.
Swastikas are all over the place. You probably enter at least one building a week in the USA -- if you live in a city -- that uses swastikas as a motif in the tiles or on the building itself with no relation to things Nazi. Just look around. The downtown shopping center in San Fran uses them in the tiles on the floor. Also, but this example isn't the use of them just for decoration, the Buddhist temple on Fulton in San Fran has one on its gate.
@Owen Thomas: I knew you would. Talk about jejune. It's obvious you get a giddy thrill out of this minimal power of yours. But really, Owen, I wasn't wanting to add any flourish or even go to any effort to amuse you. I don't like you. I think you're mean. I miss Sheila.
@tigolbitties: A young man allegedly involved in a fight aboard a BART train was shot to death by a BART police officer on the platform of the Fruitvale Station early New Year's Day, in the midst of a brawl between two groups of young train passengers.
