Kissing Congressman's Mistress Gets Her Campaign Donations Refunded

The former staffer caught on tape kissing "Family Values" Congressman Vance McAllister got her money back. According to campaign finance reports, McAllister refunded Melissa Peacock two separate donations of $2,600 each. Peacock's husband, who says McAllister ruined his life, got his donations back, too.

After the tape's release in April, McAllister apologized and said he wouldn't run for reelection, then changed his mind and said he would. Unfortunately, he's lost the crucial Duck Dynasty endorsement, because a Duck Dynasty family member decided to run against him.

According to the Times-Picayune, McAllister's campaign doesn't have money to spare. The most recent finance report from April, May, and June shows "net contributions of $27,100 during those three months, and cash on hand of only $4,778. [McAllister] lists outstanding loans from the 2013 race of over $600,000."
