Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Evacuation Slide Opens in Air

A United Airlines flight from Chicago to California made an emergency landing in Wichita, Kansas last night after an evacuation slide was accidentally deployed mid-flight. No one was injured and the plane landed safely, according to a statement from the airline.

The flight landed in Wichita at 10:36 p.m. local time after taking off from Chicago at 8:18 p.m. There were 96 passengers onboard, one of whom was former University of Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez. According to one passenger, they'll be flying out of Kansas at 9:15 this morning.
