Soupy Sales, comedian, entertainment figure, and Godfather of pie-throwing passed away yesterday at the age of 83.

Soupy Sales may be obscure now, but with over 5,000 live television appearances it's doubtful the man will ever be truly forgotten. A precursor to Pee Wee Herman as a children's host with adult appeal, Soupy mercilessly bombarded television screens through most of his existence. He is survived by two sons who backed David Bowie in his salad years.
