Disney has just unveiled the title for the first film in J.J. Abrams' new Star Wars trilogy: Episode VII will henceforth be known as The Force Awakens. Let's kneejerk react!

What does "awakens" imply? Was the Force dormant in the period between Return of the Jedi and Ep. 7? The title could refer to a certain huge, spoilery rumor about a major character from the original films, or it could just be Disney's way of reminding us there hasn't been a real Star Wars movie since the early '80s.

Feel free to speculate wildly.

The Force Awakens just wrapped shooting today, and won't arrive in theaters until Dec. 18, 2015. Nerds are fervently hoping for a teaser sometime this year.
