    I really don't think there's any aspect of this tragedy that's connected with being the child of celebrities. Even obscure people's kids have terrible breakups, unstable family backgrounds, and an inherited tendency towards depression.

    Seriously tho, how were the ratings for this shitshow? I'm not sure if this is purely an internet phenomena (kinda like how everyone used to talk about gossip girl online, but it had terrible ratings). If it's really bringing in an audience, then this is a dumb move by Dominos especially since their pizza sucks. Considering the people buying their pizza have no taste, they would be doing themselves a disservice pulling out of a show geared towards those with no taste to speak of.

    I know having wealthy parents isn't everything, but since I'm a temp employee who can be laid off at any moment and I have no medical insurance, I'm having a hard time understanding her distress. My lenses are very tinted right now.

    @Island of Misfit Toys: well we all operate from different perspectives and have wildly differing thresholds. No one should be ever feel compelled to take their own life, or even do it accidentally. The saying is " shit happens" not "temping happens" or "diabetes happens" or "rich celebrity parents happens." Her shit, and your shit are completely different. There no need to start a pity party cause someone who appears to have it "better" than you does something drastic.

    @Island of Misfit Toys: I don't think being born to rich parents means you should always have to put a smiling face when you have a painful breakup and your closest family members are making decisions about their relationships that are probably upsetting for a variety of reasons. I think she deserves some sympathy. Perspective is hard for anyone when emotional pain gets to be too much.

    @all: I think the point is you don't have to have shit going on to be depressed. Sometimes depression isn't caused by anything but genetics. It's unfair to judge someone for being depressed, because they haven't "earned it."

    @snugbug: Snuggles, you're getting rare 'round the ol' shtetl here. Have you heard of the Paskowitz family? I thought they were all very cool until I saw the documentary about them. All jews, living in a tiny RV, travelling the continent surfing. Dad, who gave me his 800 page tractatus on living the good life, is batshit crazy and now living the solitary life in Hawaii.

    @Uncle_Billy_Slumming: Oh, I do know of Doc Paskowitz.. Weird that he himself went to Stanford but once he fell into that surfer-loser state of blissitude, he neglected to educate his brood or provide for them.

    I mean, most surf-as-a-lifestyle dudes wear their epic loserdom as a badge of honor, but his story was quite sad..
