    Cop shacks are very depressing places, but very necessary to old-form police beat reporting. I had many dark times and found many great stories in just such a bleak pit.

    @Sproing: same same. it's where u get the medical examiner's list of overnite deaths and have to call all the families on the 3rd shift ... and watch detectives typing with their guns poking out from their armpit holsters
