    'Twitter' seemed humble and self-effacing at the onset, yet now seems euphemistic for this cyber-sphincter of embarrassing self-disclosure.

    I'm starting a new instant messaging application called "Pooper". It allows people to send camera photos of their bowel movements to people. It has all the immediacy of Twitter, but is more interesting...

    These people vomit so much uninteresting, useless information about themselves that even a potential stalker would be turned off.

    As my grandma would say, "Just because you are thinking something doesn't mean that anybody wants to hear it."

    @DaTruf: "Pooper" should be called "Shitter." I'd rather gaze at bowel movements than read this Twitter shit. They'd be more original, too, like snowflakes!

    I love people COMMENTING ON GAWKER about how dumb Twitter is. You do not have the online high ground, people.

    This reminds me of a question based on Devo.

    If you don't have the time or resources for both in one session, do you eliminate first a) the ninnies or b) the twits?

    And then we eliminate the ninnies AND the twits.

    I could go for that.

    Just in case, though, any insights on the binary choice are welcome.

    Mrs. Smitros and I were talking about the subject this morning and we arrived independently at the same answer.

    @propertius:

    I'm thinking that one could bypass ninnies in the first round, as they are largely feeble and self-limiting. Twits, though, often have position, privilege and ideas, as well as a sense of being entitled to inflict all of these on others.

    Might have to eliminate the twits first.
