Good to know that the media advertisers have decided to bet on is the one killing our ability to read more than 10 words of copy or watch more than 2 seconds of video. Good work, marketers!

Paul Newman's death was barely a blip on the screen... Lord knows what half the population said about Gerald Ford. "Who?"

Yeah our 24 news cycle is horrible and there are more important things going on and those of us that haven't reached max capacity on MJ news soon will, but Michael Jackson dying is a big deal, especially since it involved drugs and was unexpected (well, he has looked like a walking corpse for the past few years, but he was only 50). The toxicology report won't be back for a few weeks, so this will certainly reach/top Anna Nicole Candle in the Wind 1997 proportions unless something bigger comes along, but there is nothing bigger than the King of Pop dying unexpectedly.

Currently on CNN they're showing what appears to be a splitscreen of Michael Jackson before he had surgery and after. And for some reason one Jackson is talking in English and the other in German. WTF?

In 10 years twitter will be two characters, a Y or N and a punctuation mark. Imagine the cascades of "N!" yesterday or the countervailing waves of "Y." and "N!" during Sanford's sobfest.
