Superstar of Russia’s liberal opposition Alexei Navalny and several members of his Anti-Corruption Foundation got jumped by proud descendants of pogrom muscle in an airport yesterday.
A day after he was sentenced to five years in jail, a judge ordered opposition leader Alexei Navalny to be released from police custody. Navalny, who is Russia's most prominent anti-corruption activist and one of Putin's harshest critics, was convicted of "embezzlement."
The Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has been jailed for five years for supposedly embezzling from a timber company. Navalny has denied these allegations and claims that the trial and jailing were politically motivated. His supporters and foreign dignitaries also contend these are trumped-up charges.
