It reminds me of that hysterical skit on video they showed a few years ago at the Correspondents Dinner where W. went searching all over his office for those danged Weapons of Mass Destruction. What a hoot! Good thing nobody really died looking for them, right?
Okay -- in defense of Andrea Mitchell -- doesn't she recuse herself from stories about finance because of her husband? Not that the wider point about her as a part of the establishment isn't well taken.
@eatsshootsleaves: She said she did, but never really actually did. She has a one-hour slot on MSNBC daily and never shies away from giving her opinion on economic matters, let alone covering stories on finance.
I read the post as meaning that the media establishment in toto was doing the fellating, which is in some vulgar, such as those where I travel, a synonym for sycophancy.
My husband was the public head of the shadow government (private, undemocratic, non-transparent Federal Reserve/Goldman Sachs) and did a terrific, wonderful job enriching his core constituents (big private money/international bankers) during both Democratic and Republican administrations--with helpful cheerleading/submission from me and all my big media pals, naturally.
And if he ended devastating the nation itself, well... oops! That's just too bad, isn't it?
As a non-gay news junkie, I think of Andrea ass a real life Aaron Altman. She's a kick-ass reporter in the field, really on the ball. Sit her behind the anchor desk, though, as they do every day on MSNBC from 1-2pm, and while she doesn't flop sweat, she seems to leave her brain in the makeup room. She stumbles over names, can't form a probing question to save her life. It's painful to watch. Sort of a blessing that the last two days her slot has been pre-empted by Gibbs' press briefings.
the one thing i appreciate about CNN (and the only thing I appreciate about CNN) is that they are not afraid to hire less attractive reporters like Andrea or notorious uber-bottoms like Anderson or S&M freaks like Richard Q.
i'm especially impressed they gave Richard Quest his job back. "Join me on my quest through Central Park!"
which is nice of cnn to give people a second chance. although in quest's case they may end up having to give him a second or third chance down the line: a leopard doesn't change its spots don't you know
@onenotesam: I'm beyond convinced and I have been for years, that Lesley Stahl wears WIGS. Please take note next time you watch her. I'm sure of it. Not that I care or anything...well I do, because I don't even think they are good wigs.

The majority of this site's readers are women. Why are there no women writers and editors?

74% of Gawker's audience is female. Not that I don't like the current writers, but...
