    So Michael Rady will be going from "Swingtown" (in which he romanced a high school girl) to "Melrose Place" -- just as Grant Show went from "Melrose Place" (in which he romanced a high school girl) to "Swingtown."


    And both of them have secretaries named Lincoln.

    @AKAuser: So Jane divorces Michael because he couldn't handle the composting like a real man should. Billy falls hard for the hippy girl at Whole Foods but she turns out to be a closet meat-eating NRA member who breaks his heart when she buys a 1987 dual tank Ford F350 and the Gore-ical will drop to make sure the girls are warm enough in the pool heated with his donated 'carbon credits' and teach them all the how to screw in a compact bulb.

    McClatchy must not have seen Minghella's Madame Butterfly which is all Hollywood (though it does suck, that is Puccini's fault. Minghella can only really be blamed for the weird little puppets).


    And as strange as this opera sounds, Doctor Atomic is an opera about the creation of the atomic bomb with a libretto composed entirely from texts written or being read by the atomic scientists at the time. And it is really, really good.

    This boggles the mind. I can't begin to imagine how they plan on turning a power point presentation into an opera.


    But you know what would make a great opera? The Rod Blagojevich saga. The guy has practically written the whole libretto - just add music and wigs and it's an opera.
