    Really? What made this show hilarious was in part due to the songs being - well - far short of Shakespeare. They can't find anyone in New York to help them write parodies of bad songs / scripts? #flightoftheconchords

    The funny thing is, the first season was directly lifted from a radio show they'd already done for the BBC. I know it makes me come off like a hoodie jerk, but the BBC knows how to deal with their comedies, for the most part. End on a high note. Everyone's dignity and memories remain unblemished. #flightoftheconchords

    And really, it's not just the BBC that has the right attitude about how to produce television, it's the Brits in general. Even the commercial ITV had shows like "Jeeves & Wooster." We were busy inventing, like, "Baywatch." #flightoftheconchords

    @Mrs. Beeton: The Radio 4 show was great, at least in part because it was about this subculture of Kiwis and Aussies and South Africans who come to London and live all crammed together in squalid flats in Earl's Court. And, it was really funny.
    Whereas, in this HBO series, they don't have that to draw on; they're just another couple of transplanted vaguely hipster types. To me it seems like they've kind of betrayed their brethren, in pursuit of HBO bucks. #flightoftheconchords

    @Mrs. Beeton: The first time I heard that episode, I just about died laughing, I was gasping so hard. And of course, because I was wearing headphones, everyone in my office just thought I was weeping silently.

    I think it is a bummer if this ends without them even having a hint of success. The second season was frustrating because it seems they did not go forward, and there really was no further back they could go. #flightoftheconchords
