I've given up caring about people's feelings at work. I'm not being paid to be sensitive, I'm being paid to develop a product.

Don't take lack of sensitivity in the workplace personally. These aren't you're friends, they're your coworkers (which you didn't seem to; if not gaining influence is a problem for you, perhaps because you want to move up the ladder, leaving is probably a good idea).

@Tattertotter: Well, I understand this. There's fighting for a cause, and then there's realizing that your boss is a hopeless case, reassessing your case and the work you want to do, and then deciding to leave for greener pastures.

I mean, it's a fucking workplace, right? You can't bully your way into acceptance. That just makes everything go to shit. I don't know what you do for a living, but I'm guessing it probably doesn't involve working daily in a tight team of people?
