Hi Defamer. I'm "twitterhead" Felbsie. But aside from twitter, which actually, I still don't enjoy (trying!), I'm a professional (paid but minor league) writer and comedian. I thought the sneak peek was real funny. And so yes, I had a requisite (necessary) reaction that the preview was indeed funny. I am not easily shocked or horrified. I guess I kind of don't get your anger at people who enjoy Cohen, it seems like fabricated snark, and isn't snark soooo 2006?
I think Sasha Baron Cohen's association with hipsters--faux or otherwise--died long ago, when only the thousandth frat boy did his impression of Borat. Ergo, Gawker, your criticism of Cohen's self-congratulatory fans as being behind the times is itself behind the times.
I just can't wait for every twatwaffle on the planet to HILARIOUSLY quote one fucking line from the movie ever 5 seconds for 10 consecutive months following its release.
this is why i never saw 'borat'...once you know the premise, it's just funny gags and omg, i can't believe he got people to admit that with the cameras rolling.
Patting oneself on the back in public is pretty loathsome, but seriously, when I saw Borat in the theatre, people literally screamed throughout the nude fight scene. I have never seen such a hysterical reaction to a comedy in my life.

As is my usage of "behind the times".
