    no offense, Gawker, but I've been meaning to say something, and held back both due to not wanting to seem querulous, and in hopes that the word in question would be as ephemeral as its targets. instead, it has lingered. maybe it's just me, but "fameball" feels inelegant and a little trite, and is rather ambiguous. can we find a more substantive, richer, more fertile word? in the jarring vein, there's "flashpod".

    @Portmanteautally: So did I; I totally cried at the end, and my boyfriend had to borrow tissues from the couple sitting in front of us. But I also know a lot of jock-types, who did NOT anticipate that kind of film.

    (Which made me love it even more).
