    The GOP should quietly replace Jindal with that affable supermarket manager from the Fiber One commercials, who has probably done more for the image of (South) Asians than anyone lately. Although he's too pleasant to be Republican.

    The parties last year were insanity and this year I heard they were insane but subdued. Also a notable lack of gossip, people afraid of the chatter, aware of the gloom. I'm surprised more galleries didn't bail on attending, assuming they'd come out at a loss. Pam was hanging around for a couple days, Deitch was underwhelmed at his introduction.
