    I can't seem to remember when Obama promised he would appoint only people that have never set foot in D.C. or have never worked for the government before? Can someone find me that transcript?


    I seem to remember Obama saying that he would break away from the idealogical approach to government--appointing only Yes men, party stalwarts, people who see the world only the way he sees the world. It seems to me he's appointing people that both sides of the aisle can more or less agree on.


    Sounds to me like change away from the hyper-political machine that Bush and Rove operated for 8 years.

    @Pinekatz: No, but Harper's recently published a set of recipes (unfortunately not online) distributed to citizens of the USSR during the German offensive. Some lovely stuff in there on eating belts, soap and family pets. Don't have it on hand or I'd transcribe.
