    I'm not sure if she'll care. She's already made her money, no? She still has legions of devoted fans who will support her without being troubled by facts. And Levi doesn't seem to want to disclose any legally actionable details (assuming he really has them).

    @Claire Buoyant: I don't know... Based on the excerpts over at Wonkette, it looks really, horribly, unforgivably bad. I think there may be a few die-hards who OMGLUVITLUVUSARA!!! go nuts over it, but I think a lot of people who even nominally support her are going to be pretty turned off.

    But then again, who knows? These are the same people who think of Glenn Beck as a populist, conservative intellectual. #sarahpalin

    @Baroness: It's amazing to me that anyone this dumb would think they'd be able to run a huge country like America. Let's see...it took me 6 years to get a journalism degree, I was a failed sportscaster who lucked into the governorship of a hillbilly state, I was selected to be the running mate of an old man based on my looks, I pretty much make a fool out of myself every time I open my mouth...gosh darn it, I CAN be President!!!!!!! On the other hand Dubya managed to get elected not once, but twice. God Bless America for allowing morons to fail upwards. At least Dubya was only a pretend hillbilly, as opposed to this moron, who's the real deal. #sarahpalin

    @ParahSalin: But, even with Bush, you can almost understand his (thoroughly incorrect) opinion that he was cut out for the Presidency. He'd done pretty well, popularity-wise, in Texas and grew up in a household with a career diplomat who went on to the VP and Prez slots.

    Sarah Palin, on the other hand, deciding she could be VP or President is like me going, "You know what job I'd be good at? Fuckin' rocket scientist." despite the fact that I'm a high-school dropout who performed miserably in both science and math. #sarahpalin

    @Go Like Hell Machine: Yeah, going INTO the 2000 election nobody really thought of Bush as a huge dumbass. He was very successful in Texas politics, and was actually pretty good at playing the political game. He had a few Bushisms but not too many, and nobody would think much of a few verbal gaffes.

    He only became the idiot we know and love once we were constantly exposed to him for 8 years. Palin was an obvious moron from pretty much day one. #sarahpalin

    @Go Like Hell Machine: Sarah Palin deciding she's capable of being President is analogous to me, an out of shape, 50 year old white woman saying to myself "I think I'll move back to NYC next week and become the lead dancer for Alvin Ailey." Even if that were possible, it would be a bad idea for Alvin Ailey and for me, similar to Palin being President being bad for her, and HORRIBLE for us. When I'm alone at night I fantasize about her winning the republican primary. Shortly thereafter I start feeling slightly nauseous when I realize that 40% of the country thinks she's qualified to be President. Who the F *ck are these people? FORTY PERCENT of the country thinks a dumb hillbilly should be running the country? #sarahpalin

    @Go Like Hell Machine: He actually got a huge boost in popularity after 9/11. Nobody ever cared that he had a memo on his desk saying an attack involving planes was imminent and he chose to do nothing about it. He got kudos for a tragedy he let happen. Similarly, he could have stepped up and helped the people drowning in LA, but he chose to eat cake with McCain at the White House while freaking WAL MART delivered drinking water to them. WAL MART!!!!!!!!!!!
    I actually never hold those two things against him, what chafes my ass is that we were so close to having the deficit eradicated in 2000, and the stupid moron decides to cut taxes on people who didn't need any breaks, and then decides to start a war against a country that hadn't done anything to us, ripping America a new $6 trillion asshole, and that was before the banks collapsed. I personally didn't like him from day one, but I had no idea what a total disaster he was going to be. #sarahpalin

    @ParahSalin: Well, to be clear, I never liked him, either. But what wasn't clear at the time he was elected was, A: What an easily duped, led and manipulated cowardly jackass he was and B: How many tremendous events were going to take place during his presidency.

    Could another, more attuned President have prevented the Sept. 11th attacks? I don't know; trying to theorize on it veers into the realm of alternate history science fiction. However, the test of his character was how he responded to this (and other disasters) and that, he was a profoundly, unbelievably, unforgivably bad President. #sarahpalin

    I like to think that Clinton, or even George H.W. Bush might have thought to pick up the phone and call the FBI, and have them alert security at airports, instead of stickin' the memo on the bottom of the pile of the ole inbox.

    I frequently wonder what the past 8 years would have been like if the votes had been recounted in Florida, and the actual winner of the election had taken office.

    My republican parents think history will remember him kindly. I think if Palin were ever actually elected (shudder visibly) we might forget how God awful Bush was. He was undoubtedly the worst President in my lifetime, one boneheaded blunder after another. You are right that nobody had any idea what a moron he would turn out to be. I actually thought he would be a moderate like his father was.
