Why is anyone surprised?
The hilarious thing about this is that if the autotune had actually worked, noone would have said a goddamn thing.

His ego has gotten so inflated that he thinks he can master any genre of music (this latest being somewhat rock, somewhat house, I guess). It's like, hey, I just heard this great band called Daft Punk. Whatever they're doing, I can do better. I actually really respect his aplomb and ambition, and "Love Lockdown" is really interesting, if nothing else.
But last night's performances made me cringe, and I can't see how he won't feel the same way watching himself. He might be talented, but for the same reason I never want to see The Killers rap or T-Pain cover the Amy Winehouse or whatever, I don't want to have to hear Kanye try his hand at anything other than rap/R&B unless he actually understands what he's doing.

I watched bits and pieces of the show last night after deciding it was too cold to go out. I thought the Blagojevich sketch at the beginning of the show was sort of lame but it made me laugh anyway. The scandal is that good.
