I recently shed a ton of weight, returning me to the size of my pre at-home dad glory days. It also left me with a wardrobe suited to a much larger man. So when i read a pitch in the local paper from a local emergency assistance committee for larger sizes in men's clothing, i thought, "hey, there's a great place to dump this stuff." But when i got there, apparently my former 38x34s weren't big enough.

The skinny beyatch running the office said something about poverty and obesity in America, but my iPhone went off, and i had to wallow in how cool i am so i stopped listening. But i'm almost sure this relates.

This is still not as bad as when stores like the Gap decided that all men, regardless of their age, size or fashion preferences, would enjoy jeans that sit an inch lower at the waist. I still have a hard time finding a pair that don't seem like they were designed for Megan Fox on disco night.

I think they misspelled this guy's last name:

@Solomon Grundy: It just seems silly to classify jeans as either skin tight or so baggy they're falling off.

Also, I can somewhat relate to that body type, so I'm picturing him in severely tapered leg jeans that give him big hips and make him look like a poser. But who knows, maybe he pulls it off.

And in the mean time, my extremely slender (i'm not allowed to say skinny, even though he is) husband, who looks damned hot in those skinny jeans, can't find shirts that fit because all the "smalls" have magically ballooned into "mediums," even though they're labeled "small." Me, i just can't find jeans that fit because all the pants are made for fat gnomes. At least, i assume that's who all those 42x30s are made for.

@Hydroceph: Not to crap all over your husband's suffering at having a reduced clothing selection, but here goes:

My husband is 6'9" and weighs 235 lbs. He has extremely broad shoulders and wears a size 14 shoe. His waist is 36-38", his inseam is 42". Don't even get me started on "Big & Tall" shops that should rightfully change their name to "Big & Wide", grrrr.

Be grateful, just sayin'.
