1. It has a good song by Leonard Cohen
2. It has my hero Shaun Tomson in it
3. It features ground-breaking (?) surfing from the 70's
4. It's from "Bustin' Down the Door," a film that documents the invasion of the aussies into hawaiian big wave surfing, and thus ties to the global nature of our subject matter.
5. It's environmentally friendly.
6. Happy Holidays
I don't post for the masses. My audience consists of faux-intellectual jewish pot-smoking ex-surfers with a sense of nostalgia and a love of their planet.
@Foster Kamer: These have been the best collection of Gawker Saturday posts I have ever seen. Seriously. Are you drinking? It's 70 and sunny here but I wish I could go out and start a snowball fight. A nice one...no guns.
@Swifter: Well, until the end. Kinda. Okay, not really. But yes: I've seen the movie. I was more referring to Keitel's stop-at-nothing methods, and the Training Day thing didn't work either.
Hard to believe she threw out such softballs. And I had just started to develop a respect for her interview style after watching "Estefan/Nixon" on Showtime.
And really, if you are Gloria Estefan, what are the odds you'd being endlessly mocked for asking anything other than a softball question? I don't think political analysis is her milieu.
Warning us about the threat of the rhythm getting [us] is more up her alley.

Mr. President, would you be able to send holiday greeting to all the Hispanics watching? Did you practice your Spanish?
BARACK OBAMA:
Uh.. sí, sí... estufa verde es muy bonita y uh, dos tacos por favor...
¿verdad? gracias. How's that?
