At first I thought it was the remains of Dudley Moore, washed up on the beach. But then, I remembered that his head was a bit pointier.

So I had a look at some seal skulls, and this is what they look like:

"It certainly looks quite beast-like with those teeth." In the UK, even the surfer-dudes sound as erudite as William F. Buckley Jr.

How did Ann Coulter manage to do the Today show, and still find time for a little sunning on Exmoor beach? That woman never ceases to amaze me.

She does needs to consult with her dental technician, though. Those fangs need some grinding down.

I've always feared the Creature in the Mail. But I've always thought of it as more avian than feline, at least judging by the size of its bill.

My suspicions about strange creature discoveries generally default to the always eerie chupacabra or 'goat sucker'. Removed from natural enemies and Quick Draw McGraw Southwesterners, who knows how big the chupacabra could grow?

This is just another escapee from the Plum Island Animal Disease Center (off long island) that swam the wrong way.

Plum Island is beginning to sound like the Island of Dr. Moreau (by H.G. Wells).

I plan to rent a boat this spring and sneak ashore to see what is really going on there. I'll report back to everyone what I find.

So suck it, Montauk. You're just not all that anymore, okay?
