I really hope he pronounces his surname in the Scandinavian/Germanic manner, with a 'y' sound instead of a 'j'. Because that would make him a 'yanka'. Which seems highly appropriate. There's a whole lot of yanking going on there.

Not to mention, it brings it even closer to one of my favourite colloquialisms, used in Australia to refer to someone who over-indulges in excessive self-pleasure, or more commonly, talks crap, blows his or her own trumpet, tries just a little bit too hard to impress others:

Wanker: aka tosser, puller of own pud.

@DevilsAvocado: "Janka" is probably a German last name, derived from "Janker," which is somewhat related to the English word "jacket" and the name "Jack." In any case, it is a word that was invented by the peasantry for an item of clothing worn by peasants (acc. to the sources I looked at, it mentioned the peasant-jacket thing). So, it could very well be the case that "Janka" means "Jacketer," that is, it could be that at one time there was a member of the family who provided jackets to the other peasants, and one could easily imagine that they were low-quality jackets sold at hugely-inflated prices, and also that this ur-Janka was not very popular among the other peasants in whatever village in which he lived.

I wish I could remember where on aol I saw him, and he was actually giving relationship advice. Someone wrote in some dorky ass questions, and then either he or one of maybe three other "people" gave their opinion of the correct action to take. Priceless. I might have to search it out again.
