"Remembah when me and my writing pahtnah won an Oscah f' writing about a coupla charactahs from South Bahston? This is how they'd say 'how ah ya' to a coppah."
I love it when someone who dresses nice and sits with lots of makeup in front of a camera and reads a teleprompter thus becomes the standard for "NEWS" from which all mere commentators are forever compared unfavorably.
See, this has all happened before, see? Everything always has. This guy named Gawker the king's hitman was trying to dig up dirt on Sir Thomas Olbermann, and he had him a snitch name of Rich, who turned in a gold cup, a bribe to Sir Thomas. Only, Clovis Norfolk noted the date on the appearance of the briber, said, "This is dated in June; the appearance was in May. In other words, as soon as Sir Thomas knew it was a bribe, he dropped it into the nearest gutter."
Said Gawker, "I suppose the fact will bear that interpretation." A Man for All Seasons. Evertything always is in there.
I love it when Gawker pretends they're a legitimate news organization and gets high & mighty. You're a gossip site run by people who post under pen names like "The Cajun Boy."
@njknight: Very true. But remember also Gawker is a site where you might find a learned discussion about both the precise instruments which should've done in Bernie as well as particulars relating to Ulysses. Along with who Lohan is sleeping with and such. Quite a range.
@njknight: LOL at the epic fail of "gossip site ran by people who post under pen names"! Try: "New-media empire ran by old-media (i.e., "legitimate news") mastermind.
It's sad that his bloated sense of entitlement won't allow him to simply say 'There was major conflict of interest that I ignored because Richard makes for entertaining television. It won't happen again.'
@IamnotStarJones: The problem is, he really isn't. He has good opinions and a very patrician way of expressing 'em, but he's bland as white bread. I much prefer Larry O'Donnel, among the guys, and most of the women who appear on Rachel.
@Tremonius: I should have qualified with: '....entertaining television for Keith Olbermann.' Because KO is the only person that truly matters. Co-sign on the Larry O'Donnell tip -- he's entertaining and smart.
What a lying liar this one is. First, his corporate daddy and BillO's corporate daddy agreed to not have their boys fight anymore.

And seriously? What poor taste to milk his mother's death to excuse bad decisions? Gross.
Politically, I'm probably pretty close to Olbermann on the spectrum, but I haven't been able to watch his show in a long time. Basically, "didactic" is how I'd describe his broadcast style and whenever he's cornered off-air, it's like his backbone disappears.
"The title of the show is Countdown with Keith Olbermann, is it not?"
Absolutely, and I agree with this post 100%. However, at some point we should recognize that the people who report the news to us are no longer the same ones who investigate the news. Some seem to think that Olbermann actually goes out and finds every story, follows up on them, gets the interviews, etc., etc. Simply not true.
This is not to say that he was in the right or anything; he should double-check his staff. Just a dose of reality.
That's one of the worst photoshops I've ever seen. It's like they popped Affleck's head on Fabio's body and orange-washed the whole thing to hide the seams.
Great! Now I'm sitting here at work daydreaming about Affleck and Hamm sexing each other. I'm now writing, producing and directing a porn flick in my head.

This happens every time I think about Olbermann.

By the way, doesn't the term "bellies up" seem to depict more of a dead goldfish and less of "stardom?"
