I wish someone was giving away free liquor. The ice cream and the doughnut will help, but my nerves are going to require something a little stronger this time around!
@JulesNoctambule: As you may well know, giving away liquor was a fine American tradition for a while. Shoot, in many cases the liquor was given away and ingested in copious quantities before individuals voted, with interesting results.
@overunderover: Sex toys are still illegal in Alabama. You have to go to the Georgia or Florida border, where there are little old men in a black raincoats to hook you up.
Actually, when Ben & Jerry's announced their free scoop they explictly stated that they could not base it on whether someone voted due to the "voter bribe" statute, and therefore EVERYONE could get a free scoop. Apparently Krispy Kreme (who is requiring an "I Voted Sticker") needs new general counsel...
I think you're right. But, could there be an argument made by KK that this is just an advertisement (which may not be considered under contract law an "offer"), as an offer may need to be made between KK and the individual customer? @JinxyMcDeath:
@ElvisWorley: Well, if I were KK's general counsel, I would make the argument that an "I Voted Sticker" is readily available without the need to actually vote and could likely be purchased on the internet, or even home-made. And I would liken it to promotions such as Chipotle's where on Halloween they give out free lunch to peopole who come in dressed as burritos.
But, it's easier to just not require anything and merely request that people do the right thing and vote.

Even to even think of making ice cream out of religious minorities is sick, I tell you, sick.

But the quantities are seemingly endless.
