How do atheists and neo-Darwinists persecute anyone? It's not as though the atheist/neo-Darwin lobby is all that strong. And the creationist documentary should've been all that the Times needed to dismiss Stein, honestly, who reads newspapers and believes in creationism?!
Just perusing the comments at the Spectator.
In general, there only seems to be two types of comments that follow such posts of "why I was victimized": Comments that agrees with the writer and strokes their egos and comments that didn't like the victimizer in the first place so by default the writer was right.
I would love if someone, who is just an observer, write simply comment: "Ben, you know that's not the case. Stop trippin."
@hilikusopus: Uh, I did. I got about a grand off the guy in 1998. I'm embarrassed to say that he was really nice to me at the time, and I was thinking, "Gee, maybe he's not such a dick." Subsequent events have caused me to revise this opinion substantially.
@MissNormaDesmond: But you'll always have that moment. Credit when credit's due -- although, in the case of this credit report company, the problem is credit when no credit is due.
I haven't read the linked articles, but the YouTube shows a mole holding a sign identifying him as a "financial writer". So, it looks like he was trying to trade on his column and therefore, the commercial could imply an endorsement from the NYTimes.
If Ben Stein can't see the obvious conflict of interest, then all those folks on his old Comedy Central can honestly say, they were beat by an idiot.
@KenwayLolzordz: THE the most stupid, baseless allegation you've ever read? Don't do all that much reading, huh? Check out Sarah Palen's recent Facebook postings, to start.
This is grotesquely salacious, but I used to know a fellow who insisted that Ben Stein was a fan of male hustlers. He himself was a male hustler and we were both very, very high at the time so, you know, grain of salt.
"Also, I have from an uncorruptible authority, that this morning Obama did indeed sneak into my kitchen through the window while my attentions were at my microwave and pee in my corn flakes. My. Corn. Flakes. BroughtToYouByKelloggs(tm)"
Gosh, I hope this lack of income doesn't force him to make cutbacks like canceling his cable...oh yeah, he probably gets the Premium Package for free, at both homes.
@iplaudius: Because Obama is the omniscient omnipotent omnimalevolent antichrist who can have NYT reporters fired at will but probably can't get a universal healthcare reform bill passed.
Hey, if anyone talks to Ben Stein, ask him if it's true, the rumor I once heard, that he wanted a job with Michael Milken long ago but Milken refused him, and then Stein became a big critic of Milken.
Awww, poor Ben Stein. He's one of the oppressed white males in this country that no one seems to pity anymore. Where's the empathy for the rich white man?

@SultanaEleusis: They are obviously Democratic operatives. A real Republican would know that it's "muslin".
