    at first I figured, "civil rights act, hello!" but I see this lady put the sign on her house, which does not appear to be a business . but this begs the question--were people simply walking in out of her house in the first place?

    @mossdale: Well, one can only imagine the constant stream of Hispanics she must have had begging to socialize with her. I mean, don't you want to hang out with her? That lady is a good time looking for a place to happen.

    @lobstr: When I saw the town I said OH. MY. GOD. When my family moved to Texas in the mid-90s (military transfer, totally against my will), we settled in Azle. IT SUCKED. IT STILL SUCKS. I got out as soon as possible. It's a tiny town and full of bigots and hicks. Where did you grow up? Springtown? Boyd? Lake Worth? Sansom Park?

    @SybilDisobedience: I grew up across Eagle Mountain Lake from Azle in a lil' joint called "Lake Country", which, when we moved here in the 1970s from Brooklyn (holla!) it was actually pretty cool, awesome sunsets, and the people were from all over -- kinda upper middle class so there were not a lot of dumbshit racist hicks that I knew of..

    Of course, moving here was a total shock to our family back then, but I've grown to really dig FW itself, as it's a very easy town to do business in, and I really dig downtown, as I've only lived in highrises here for the past 15 years (I guess that's the NY in me) .. i find FW to be a pretty cool town, it's just the outer boroughs :[] that hold the dumbshit splinter groups like that lady.

    But being born in NYC and going back 3x a year for good measure, I like to think I have dual citizenship :[]

    @lobstr: It's funny, because I'm not a NY native and I have grown to love Fort Worth, but go to New York 2x a year myself :) Which buildings downtown have you lived in, without getting too personal? When I met my husband he was living in the Electric Building on 7th street. I've lived all over FW, historic south, west...now I live on the east side in Old-People-Ville and I love it.

    @SybilDisobedience: Hah, how weird, I've lived in the EB twice, but I've done the complete downtown tour.. Starting with the EB (before it was a huge pot-filled dorm, just me n' a bunch of oldes) in the early 90s, then Sanger Lofts in Sundance for 7 years, then we bought the first condo in "The Tower", (lived in the EB again waiting for it to be finished), sold she and went over to the Neil P. (across from the EB) :D ..

    I bet I know yer hugsband :p and chances are we're gonna know a bunch of the same people, I feels it!.. to be continued on FB :[]

    Some neighbors feel the sign is in poor taste at best and, at worst, hateful and that it should be taken down. I felt the same way when some people in my neighborhood put up "YES on 8" signs last fall. Mr. In_my_tuna encouraged me to do some "midnight politicking" but that's a whole other discussion.

    Other thoughts here;clearly ALL dentists in Azle must be Hispanic.
