science-related non-profit created a few months before he was sentenced
What. In. The. Fuck. Could this possibly be. Is it "science-related" in the same way that twinkies are "food-related" or that my stomach is "six-pack related"?
"The Florida Science Foundation funds research into the relative viscosity of various massage oils, seeking to identify the optimum balance of slipperiness and friction required to counterbalance the effects of Viagra."
The Post is wrong twice because in defamation there's a higher standard when commenting on something like someone's chastity. Worse, they relied on a fucking rapist's publicst who also works for the god-damned paper, didn't disclose that, and used no other sources but an unverified MySpace account. Using the publicst's quote proves malice, something she doesn't even need to show because she isn't a public figure, but can show anyway.
From the writing of this decision, it sounds like some moronic, immature law clerk was more concerned with writing funny words than actually getting any law right and the judge just signed off on it. But they'll get overturned, she's going to win in the end.
Well, how could she win this case if the test is whether the allegedly libelous statements would "deprive [her] of . . . friendly intercourse in society"? If anything, they'd do the exact opposite.
Suing someone for re-printing something that you put forth for public consumption on myspace is idiotic. I think once you publish sexual fantasies on a social networking site your reasonable degree of privacy goes out with your self-respect.

To paraphrase Woody Allen, I wouldn't want to be a member of a society that would have friendly intercourse with a person like me.
