    Sorry folks, I read What Is The What, and it's fantastic. Aren't there so many worse writers with worse intentions to target than Dave Eggers? Why didn't people do this to John Fucking Updike? Dude was a perv.

    Especially if you're setting the "perv" bar as low as John Updike. In fact, what are you, a Victorian lady-of-the-manor? If that's your threshold for pervery, I advise you to stay 50 feet away from all William S. Burroughs books, in order to preserve your delicate sensibilities.     I might read Eggers -- might! -- if he would write a golf book about a group of traveling golf gypsies who survived 9/11 and if -- and only if! -- he would donate all the proceeds to old, broken-down duffers living in Fort Myers, Florida. He could call it, "Putt Is The Putt."

    Someone should get Candace Bushnell to donate all proceeds from her novels to group homes for wayward/disillusioned spinsters.
