    @Tart of Darkness: You busted me. Here's why I'm only doing NYP and NYDN, for the Weekend Readers. If you want me to go wider, I absolutely will.

    I used to scan D-Listed, WWTDD, Egotastic, People, TMZ, etc. And then I realized that New York - even though they're dying - still has the best home-grown gossip pages around, and living in New York, I'm (literally) closer to these pages, even when they go wide with national celebrity news. Also, I try to run on the way these papers take their issues: I can't take celebrity gossip as anything but a dumbass joke, so I try to mix up media game in on them too (see: relentless harping on Rush & Molloy). So, there's my #self-referential for the day. Oh, also: I just can't compete with Michael K. He's too good.

    Serious question: with exception to big stories, is it worth going outward, or sticking towards the regional rags? #parishilton

    @bbug: Seems I owe Mr Presley an apology - but I remember when many who knew him, including he himself, were so adamant that Billy Graham could never speak an anti-Semitic remark as he had only pure Christian love for all god's critters and would never insult a race or religion - except that he was caught on tape in the White House despising Jews with Nixon.

    I imagined a very likely scene of Elvis on the rise being challenged by a gathering of cousins about whether he'd left his homeys behind; after all, he did pick up that negrah music. Folks tend to speak to their environment, especially Southern Baptist folk. #parishilton
