Texas Fires Trooper Charged With Perjury in Death of Sandra Bland
On Wednesday, Brian Encinia, the Texas state trooper who stopped and arrested Sandra Bland, who died, three days later, in jail, was indicted for perjury. In a statement, the Texas Department of Public Safety said that it would “begin termination proceedings” against Encinia.
