We apologize for being so drunk on our own power and popularity that we had blackouts about the last time we did this. We're going to quit someday, hand to God! Just don't ask us to go cold turkey. We just have to get through 2012, and then hand to God! Is it hot in here?
Are they STILL using the term "homicide bomber"? News flash Fox: *all* people who try to kill others with bombs are "homicide bombers". The reason "suicide bombers" get a different name is because they kill *themselves* too. I mean, what the hell?
@Cicada: Actually, the wingnuts are down with the French right now because Sarkozy is trying to outlaw the burqa. All it takes is a little xenophobia and racism to get back in good with the wingnuts.
@BettyCrocker: Kittens with guns or lesbians with guns?
I must admit liking the mental picture of the first option even more than the second.
So long as we draw the line at giving them mines. Because I'M the one in the house with kitty-litter duty, and the job is unpleasant enough as is.
This could just be a generalization...but would it be thinkable to assess that MSNBC viewers are still mostly skeptics, cynics, and begrudging idealists, BUT Fox News viewers mostly buy their whole spiel hook, line, and "death panel?" So telling an MSNBC viewer to call their congressman would get just as many snorts of derision, as it would get people to pick up the phone, but the expectation is that if the same sentiment is coming from FoxNews it's like some Mission Control directive?
Funnily I think what's really being said here is less about the statement itself, but the attitude of the recipient. #rachelmaddow
@Swifter: It's quite unfortunate that some talking-head has that much power. If only I could use one of these guys to mention that I have a four-year-old portable washer for sale. Would save me the time writing an ad for Craigslist, you know, where all the murderers with dirty laundry hang out looking for call girls and energy saving appliances. #rachelmaddow
Though to be fair, I believe Rachel has said in a couple of interviews that she doesn't own a television, so she might not know what's on MSNBC before she gets into the building.
And I sometimes think of an old teevee gag no one else remembers, back in the time when drunks were funny, and to sober this one up, they somehow nailed all his furniture to the wall, so that he woke up with a hangover like always but had to negotiate breakfast on the wall with his robe somehow falling behind him followed soon by his orange juice.
And so the allegory has come true, and we are invited to an equivalency set whereby screaming off-the-wall teabag twits equate sharing health care and the Holocaust with the request by anyone on MSNBC to "write your congressperson."
Idiocy, plain and, as the teabaggers themselves, simple. #rachelmaddow
Dylan who?
I saw the thrust of the story as being how MSNBC's progressive headliner-ideologues are not all rah-rah Obama on their "nightly news-and-views-casts" but are trying to hold him accountable to their agendas. The distinctions with Fox that Maddow was making seem true for the evening and prime time shows. But yeah, Ratigan (I've never seen his show) shares their network so the story should have taken him into account.
Dylan Ratigan's bullhorn is sometimes turned up a few clicks too loud, but he makes some valid points on many issues. And what's wrong with ringing up your local representative to voice your thoughts/opinions on issues that affect your community? #rachelmaddow
@Swifter: I don't think you can fairly equate MSNBC with Fox. I mean, MSNBC has it's share of screamers, but I don't see them actively encouraging armed revolution amongst the flock.
Also, you do come across the pundits on MSNBC (Maddow is one who comes to mind) who, regardless of your politics, seems to genuinely encourage and debate opposing points of view. Name a single Fox talking head who does that. #rachelmaddow
@Go Like Hell Machine: Chris Wallace seems pretty fair to me and regularly calls out Fox right wing ideologues on their more lunatic diatribes. #rachelmaddow
@Go Like Hell Machine: Pox Noise is in the business of faking clips and producing lies to make false points for the RNC, and MSNBC simply calls them out on it. If anyone sees an "equivalency" (one unadmitted benefit of total "skepticism" is you don't have to think) there, it's them that's skewed. And so a proper debate on the subject would be to link to an MSNBC newsclip in which the very trees changed from spring to winter so that the crowd of their cretin cabal might look larger. #rachelmaddow
@Swifter: isn't that the one the lunatic fringe say doesn't belong there and should be fired? I never watch Pox Noise, of course, just like I don't venture down into our septic tank, but depend on those worthies who are willing for that service. #rachelmaddow
@Swifter: I haven't seen MSNBC providing intentionally false and misleading information like FOX does all the time, and FOX clearly does it for the purpose of promoting the republican party. #rachelmaddow

Why start apologizing now?
Perhaps what they're trying to say is;
"All those other times other than the last two? We meant to mislead you."
