Does anybody else remember when Coleman said "that's what I would do" when asked whether Franken should concede when he (Franken) was behind by 215 votes on election night?

So I'm waiting for that concession speech right about now.

As a Minnesotan, I give up. With the publicized clusterfuck that is the re-recount, and the lawsuits that are likely to ensue (Anyone read Bleak House? I am starting to understand it now), no one would ever notice. It would beat the hell out of repeatedly hitting my head on my desk and trying vainly to convince people that no, Minnesotan's aren't ALL complete morons, we just had to choose between two candidates that no one really liked.
That being said, bring on the Lizard People.

@garbanzo314: I really don't want to be saying that at all. But I think he probably would have had a good shot had he ran.

Excuse me, I have to go weep into my coffee after writing that last sentence.

    PS Norm Coleman Sucks

It won't be months. Coleman will go through the remaining hail mary legal avenues, which are nearly exhausted. The cost logistics of dragging this thing out for the next few months are simply be too expensive for Coleman to handle, which means he's almost certain to officially throw in the towel - likely within the next couple of weeks. Ya see, Coleman's got a few more legal problems coming at him that will cost him plenty if he hopes to stay out of prison (see Stevens, Ted, plus Norm has a few .. um .. personal problems that will soon come out of the, er .. closet).

    Senator Franken. Whodathunkit?

@AJB_: I think part of Norm is secretly relieved. He's probably praying that he'll get some cushy, well-paying job so he can start to pay-off the family debts. I think he and his wife lived way over their heads...not Leona Helmsey-like, but enough to keep them up nights worrying about paying the bills.

Of course, he probably won't be able to pay off much if his next job is making license plates.

    P.S, maybe Van Sant used...doctor...FRANKENSTEIN...

Yes, filibustering the opening of the Senate when the country is in economic freefall and needs swift and decisive action by the government should win the Republican party even more converts.

@MrInBetween: Tragically, page one of the Harry Reid playbook just has a picture of Kevin Bacon in Animal House saying, "thank you, sir, may I have another?" But then again, Harry Reid is one of the western-state-pro-life Democrats. Also known as Republicans.
