    @bluebears: You can disagree with him all you like, but that's not even remotely accurate. Michael Moore, like him or hate him, is at the very least very shrewd, intelligent, and clever.

    @clintosterholz: different from smart. He's def. shrewd and clever. I don't know about intelligent. sorry, just my opinion. And I actually agree with him in theory, I just disagree with the way he presents his arguments because I think his perspective tends to be oversimplified and yes, dumbed down.

    @bluebears: I get it's your opinion, but it's presented as fact. I don't find him smart is different from saying he's not that smart. One's a more objective fact than another. And yeah, if you think he's stupid, that's different. I won't bark down your snorkel then.

    I've despised Michael Moore ever since I heard him speak at NYU in 2000 (wearing his Nikes). I went in thinking he was a hero, and left thinking I'd been duped by slick rick. He's an opportunistic con artist. His angle is to wave a flag for worthy causes, and play the liberal hero-schlub, but I'll wager he doesn't give a rats ass what he says. It's like a charity con -- here's a great cause, donate to my bank account! He'll walk around shaming Nike for sweat shop labor, wearing a brand new pair of Nikes. Not giving him my dollar.

    @MissVero: Yeah, not seeing the significance there. Sean Penn railed against the Bush Administration (and stood up for Jude Law! Why? Who knows?) and never went plugging for an Oscar, despite winning one (and I'm not a huge Penn fan). I'm just saying, the fact that the whole Oscar thing was even on Moore's radar at all makes his arguments about this country less authentic in my view. Boo! capitalism! Yay! frivolous awards that mean nothing outside of the entertainment industry?! Poh-oh-sew-urrrr.
