I believe in de-criminalization of drugs, but there is a difference between a going to jail for small time vending or using and carrying a briefcase full of coke on a plane because somebody handed it to you and said it was medicine. Having been to southern Colombia, I assure you that the drug trade is ruining that country. It fucks up people in shitty situations at both ends: the campesinos in Colombia and the addicts in the US. It's the middlemen like Forte that reap the windfall. Fuck him and fuck Bush, too.

I spoke with Forte a couple of times in Aubette right before the bust. I was so disappointed in him but he's a really great guy.
