Actually, Peeps and others, you may be surprised to learn that far right neocons and the ACLU are on the same side, re, national identity cards. Do. not. want. them.
"I don't think there is an anti-jihadist movement anymore. It's all a bunch of kooks."
Yes, not unlike a couple of years ago when they were all staid, level-headed rationalists who harbored pragmatic and Constitutionally sound solutions to the jihadist problem.
Sure they don't say "let's round up the Muslims" but they certainly say "let's have everyone carry identification so that the Muslims among us are easily spotted".
Yes, Glen Beck. There will always be at least one stupid person at every meeting you go to for the rest of your life. That, I can pretty much guarantee.
Also, way to lovingly invoke the image of MLK, only to let his picture drop back to the desk with a clatter as soon as you're finished with him. I am awed by your level of respect.
I just spent the last four hours reading and re-reading over the memos that the Department of Justice released today. You know, the memos that said putting someone in a small box with a stinging insect or ramming his head against a wall or making him feel like he was drowning wasn't torture. And -- I have to say -- I'm starting to get the feeling that these small government conservatives don't actually care about small government.
I know my conclusion must sound shocking to you all.
@eatsshootsleaves: No, they're much more concerned about the torture they endure in thinking about deficits and how the government is printing money it doesn't have. It's KILLING them.
Not literally, of course. Why the fuck would they care about that?
@smithhimself: I honestly can't tell. I can't bring myself to pay attention to him long enough or intently enough for my equipment to get any sort of reading.
It's like staring at the sun. I'm afraid my eyes are going to melt out of my head.
I voted for Obama, but more and more I am siding with the Glenn Becks of the world.
The issues he was talking about on his show today were about how the protests yesterday are about government corruption in general - it's not a Republican issue or a Democratic issue.
FNC and CNN both did their parts yesterday to make the protests a partisan issue - so that America is divided along party lines rather than united in rising up against those who have bought and sold our country.
As Karl Denniger says, "The "Captains of Finance" didn't get caught up in a whirlwind - they intentionally created loans to be made to anyone who could "fog a mirror" and they intentionally claimed these loans were safe when they were sold on to investors. The number of co-conspirators involved in this episode of generational theft numbers in the tens of thousands, and not only is it unjust to demand that Americans as a whole pay for it, it is flatly impossible for such a path forward to succeed."
@icantdrive55: The tea parties were not partisan? Then why the thousands of people with nonsensical anti-Obama posters everywhere (my favorite of which is "Obama Lied, The Economy Died" whaaaaaa?). Where exactly were all these numbnuts while Bush ran up the deficit for 8 years and drove this country in the ditch we're all in? Where all the anti-GW posters exactly?
@icantdrive55: Siding with "Glen Beck"? Whatta heck is "Glen Beck"?
If you said you were siding with a view of an issue, I could see that. But, as long as you think in terms of "Obama" and "Beck" and not in terms of issues, you are part of the problem.
So you voted for Obama, eh? What da heck is that supposed to mean? How does that fact contribute to discussing anything of relevance? I don't give a flying crap of who you voted for or what you think of Glen Beck, unless you are out to snark and gossip and make fun of people, which by the way, is really what this is all about. I mean, either that or a relevant discussion. The problem is, you are not doing either.
If you are really non-partisan, can you pretty please re-post, this time without mentioning Obama, Beck, Fox or CNN... or anybody or anything politically loaded in name. Stick to the damn issues, or drop the pretense of objective analysis.
I didn't know hogs could hold up pictures with their hooves- the opposable thumb thing. The fact he's holding a pic of MLK makes me vom. What a cretin.

We don't need no stinkin' ID cards. Little chip under the skin on your forearm and you're good to go.

According to the ACLU, the ACLU is not in favor of national ID cards:

Maybe we should have them wear some kind of patch on the clothing or get them tattooed?

while we're at it we should put them all in one neighborhood surrounded by a wall and gate.
You know, like Beverly Hills.

4) ????
5) PROFIT!
Watch for Hannity to pop into the frame in the next couple of days bellowing "SPEED IT UP A LITTLE!"
