    Not this one. Glad to see the fetid veil of "public service" pulled away for a second to show the reality of Georgetown University -- a magnet for grasping rich kids who want to be (1) lawyers, (2) doctors, or (3) well-paid executers of US imperial prerogative in the world. With a big dollop of reactionary, anti-gay, anti-woman politics thrown in. As a center of learning, it's a colossal waste of time. #georgetown

    @lrubemp: I don't think that is is a colossal waste of time as a center of learning. It sure as hell is an expensive one and thus attracts some of the undesirables. I have never found it to be anti-woman, but perhaps you are aware of something I am not. #georgetown

    I went to GWU for my freshman year before transferring to the University of Michigan. There were a lot of entitled trust fund twits there, but one kid that lived on my floor (in Thurston Hall) was the worst I'd ever seen. For example: he had an entire crew actually remodel/decorate his dorm room. I'm talking wall-mounted TVs, new furniture and -- wait for it -- Burberry Nova Check carpet. #georgetown

    @mattchew03: I currently attend GWU and there are so many entitled trust fund twits here, but a surprising amount of non-trust fund twits, like myself. I'll be paying for my GW education for the rest of my life, unlike about 80% of the other douchebags here, and it makes me feel like I'm actually earning my education and it is worth it...although I hate that people like this kid give non-douchebag private school attendees a bad name, despite my humble middle-class background I'll be labeled forever as some trust-fund twit.

    Also, I want to know if that room in Thurston is still like that, but did you hear that they want to tear it down?! #georgetown

    This really isn't the worst idea in the world. Lots of college kids pay people to write their papers for them. Imagine if all of those college kids wrote their own papers, but paid someone to do their laundry etc. instead. #georgetown

    There is a short film, Thug, that's on YouTube from the same user who posted the video above. It lists "Charles Cooper" as the producer/director. It's done in a film- noir style with a cool-jazz score that's heavy on the sax, altogether evoking a '40s noir piece. The editing is extremely choppy and the script is completely tone deaf and anachronistic. The opening of the dialogue is, "Dude. You owe, me."

    So, I could try to defend my alma mater... but... there are a ton of elite New England prep school douche bags there. What can I say? However, there are also a bunch of non-prep school douche bags there who are actually trying to get a good education... We just don't make it into the blogosphere because, well, we aren't elite New England prep school douche bags. #georgetown

    I wouldn't be surprised at all if this wasn't a hoax. I spent some time in an international study abroad program with some Georgetown kids. Before then, I had no idea it was possible to simultaneously be hedonistic and conventional, overtly sexual and unsexy, and alcoholic and lacking alcohol tolerance. It wasn't like one or two kids from the group of the ten who were there were like that, it was every single one of them. I'm not kidding, and I'm unfortunately not exaggerating.

    @joefuntime: I was also once chased out of a party at Georgetown with a whiffleball bat. My friend apparently (I didn't hear it) made some flippant remark about how everyone was wearing Abercrombie & Fitch. Before I was out the door, a girl pulled me aside and said, "Sorry, I think you guys should go. They're all a little too coked up." This is a true story. #georgetown

    that's not sarcasm. i love my alma mater (arguably), but I can't lie: it's prick-ville. and most of the time, I appreciated this, because it provided a constant source of amusement.

    The Post will surely argue that they at least put their own reporter on it, sourced it, blahblahblah. You could then argue that that's a stupid thing to do, when you could just summarize the original reporting, cite it as the originator, and link to it. The Post's method takes several hours, yours takes several minutes. #georgetown
