@Stirge: Yes, from what I hear she is beautiful on the inside, so kudos to her for that. Most people in her shoes would be awful, highly spoiled jerks. So I'll certainly give credit where credit is due.
Actually, I worked with Chelsea while she was a consultant at McKinsey. For six months, she worked out of the conference room next to my office with a dozen or so other McKinseyites. I gotta say that she is a normal, down to earth woman. She was very gracious, low-key and composed. Strangely enough, I never noticed any Secret Service protection, although I'm sure they were around.
I grew up next door to the Mezinskys. Their house was named Terrier Hall and it has all of these hideous ceramic terriers on the front yard that my mother would always complain about.
"If there is one thing I learned this Thanksgiving, it's this: I [insert your name here] am wonderful and yet my siblings are royal fuck-ups."
If our national holidays teach us anything, it's that the whole parenting thing is a giant crap shoot. So please stop with the "Clintons are wonderful parents" stuff. They are a closer to the template of how not to parent - an absent, sex addict father and a not very available mother. If the Clintons had a son, he'd probably be splitting time between rehab and catching STDs from Paris H. .
@SisterCarrie: Yup. Love is never enough. And we've set the bar really low here. Are we to celebrate every time some celebrity kid doesn't show up in tabloids drunk or high? This kid is probably an ace at keeping up appearances and maintaining the image of a clean-cut all-American success story. The reality is probably very different. Conservatives don't make for the only bad parents around.
There is really nothing else I can say about that. Despite all their issues as a couple it is clear that the Clintons did know how to do one thing very right, raise a daughter who is extremely intelligent, and staying out of the tabloids for drunken stupid behavior.
@gawkimo: I cannot fathom what it must be like to be the child of a President. Particularly the child of a President who had to go through puberty under the watchful eye of the American public (and be lampooned in the process). So - if this lovely young girl blossoms into a well-adjusted, accomplished woman, should we not be happy for her and give credit where credit is due?
He's making a great living with Citizens' Energy, so why would he drag his nasty divorce/annulment into the spotlight. Not only that, but years back, he also had a car (Jeep?) accident on Nantucket that left a female "friend" paralyzed for life. Methinks he's doing the prudent thing here.
@bewareofzealots: He was already in Congress so unless there are fresh skeletons I don't think the accident or divorce would keep him from getting elected.
"Mr. Hand, like a long time ago, didn't we like tell those British dudes to go screw off so we could like get out from under their dynasty, or something? Like why would we want another?
Also, that Joey Kennedy cat probably has like a rotting corpse in his closet or something, or else he'd run for office. Hot interns, dude. Either that or he was like adopted and is smart."
@CaptainFantastic: He did run for office. He was a 6-term Congressman. Also, part of the Kennedy's charm is having massive amount of skeletons in their closet. Maybe it's the reverse for Joe and he's just not interesting enough.
Seriously Belonsky, is it that hard to read these once or twice before posting? Your headline is missing a letter, apostrophes don't make a word plural, and the second Obama daughter has a first name (it's Malia). Waking up is hard enough without having to decipher this.

I think the Clintons must be some pretty good parents, because Chelsea seems to have grown up scandal free and happy.
