Brian - it's PRYCE , damn it, once and for all. PRYCE. I love your style, but your columns seem to have more typos and spelling errors than most. Examples: "almost any any character" and "Between this an a well-regarded turn on Broadway". Gawker is better than this....
@ChasityNuggletron: If you had bothered to read the very first posts here, you would have known that we all knew it was Pryce and we did not give a fuck. Sorry. #madmen
I suspect Betty will be around for next season because Don still needs a bad girl in his life. It's the only way Don can take Bets seriously-as another woman.
Sal will be back eventually. How can he not? You know Don will find some client who will benefit from Sal's exclusive experience.
Peggy will stay around and develop foolish feelings for Don once she learns he's getting divorced.
Roger and Joan are so going to get it on!
Trudy will end up with Joan's doctor once she learns that Pete is non-stop drooling over a self-Betty-fied Peggy.
Gawker -- cute, fun article but your odds are backwards (duh?) and there are typos...do bloggers not have same editing/controls as more traditional journos? Who gave the okay to post?
@Trixie from Toronto: They're not backwards....if you look at the most likely scenarios, the odds are better than even, i.e. 1 to 500. For the less likely ones, they're below even, i.e. 500 to 1. #madmen
@justinis1badmofo: I am reading it this way: "Odds of Don returning are one in a million." Am I reading it wrong? I would get it if it said "Odds of Don NOT returning are one in a million." #madmen
@Trixie from Toronto: Try reading it as "one for, one million against." That's how we do it in Vegas. This means even money return on a bet if he returns, and a spectacular return if he does not.
Why all the Betty hate? I think I'm the only one who likes her even though January Jones is not that good of an actress. Plus, she has her own plot now. She married a man she's only known for six weeks! She and Don will probably spend next season being awkwardly placed in each others presence. Maybe she and Don will have an affair once she realizes what a mistake she has made by marrying Henry! #madmen
@Wannabeer: Sex with Henry will no doubt be totally boring - especially compared to Don. I bet they do it in Reno before the divorce is finalized and Betty flies home solo because she decides she can't possibly marry Henry. #madmen
If I were January Jones I'd be worried that taking other high-profile roles would only expose me as a lousy actress, what with the whole "emotionally repressed housewife role" excuse gone. #madmen
@The Count of Monte Fisto: Hey now...I have to defend JJ on this. I think if you compare Betty's demeanor from the first season to the third, you will see that she gave a very nuanced and good performance. She managed to go from sweet, naive and blindly faithful to her husband to bitter, cynical and wanting to leave him for another man, and she did so with very little overt dialogue. So much of it was in her mannerisms. I saw her transform into a completely different person in a way that even Don Draper hasn't.
I think JJ has some chops, and I hope we get to see her in this "new life" next season. I think it will end up much like her old life, but it will be interesting to see how it at least starts out. (And no, I'm not her publicist or mother, I promise).
@d000505: Well, without meaning to offend, I will cry my eyes out if the talentless cipher takes more air time from the real stars of this show. I agree that her story line has much to explore; she's just not the one to make it interesting. #madmen
Betty- comes back as the governor's 1st lady and law student @ night
Don- comes back as captain of industry and Hilton's adopted son
Joan- just has to come back, with the silver fox one-liner crackup Roger in her bed
Trudy- can take a hike- her operator-wifey cake bearing fakeness will not be missed...she needs to get a job and a sense of style
Sally- comes back and hangs out with grandpa's ghost and gets all As (I love that kid actress!!!) #madmen
@agrodolce: Unless you're suggesting that Betty marries Rockefeller, what are you suggesting?
The Trudy character has emerged out of nowhere to be one of the most engaging and powerful women on the show. As far as sense of style - I want that blue hat she wore last episode or maybe the one before that. I want that hat so much. The woman not only has a sense of style, she's pretty much a total tour de force. When Pete is flailing around in his meeting with Don and Roger, caught bewteen his vanity and his insecurities, Trudy clearly intercedes and says something like, Peter, I need to speak to you now.
Did you miss the bit where Pete reports to Don and Co. that he has nailed the requisite # of billings? Don looks over the list and says "Clearasil." Trudy's parents own that company and took the account away when Pete wouldn't consider adoption. She has pulled major strings.
@registered: I had a dream that Mr. H. Belly-rubber Francis used his new trophy family as a means to winning an election as Governor...but poor Betts regrets her bets and decides to use law school as her escape route on her way out of this marriage
NOONE has a better sense of style than Bets, but I do wish she kept her mouth shut, especially around the kids
Trudy is a minupulating hag living vicariously through her winey pasty husband Pete's life...so she can buy those atrocious hats...so not hip...ugh...better yet, she catches him in her hat and heels on a "sick day" and promptly files for divorce #madmen
@agrodolce: Oh my god it all makes sense now. Henry wants to marry a stranger because she's good looking and would fit into whatever political aspirations he has. Yahtzee! #madmen
@Products Will Save Me: Yeap....and I bet Henry Francis is either gay or sexually dysfunctional. He probably thinks that since Betty has not jumped his bones that she is not that interested in sex. And boy, is he wrong! Betty is very interested in sex - but only with Don. #madmen
I just realized last night that Trudie is also Annie on Community with Joel McHale. It was such a shock to realize because they are so different. So she is pretty busy herself. #madmen
@Conchie Birdie: I love both characters, though. Annie is so adorkably earnest. She's Trudy, but without the steely drive to succeed (even if Trudy's own success is measured by her husband's). Trudy is what Annie could become, if she ever learned to stand up for herself. "Community" has already been picked up for next year. That actress owes her agent big-time if he or she brought her both "Mad Men" and "Community." #madmen
Your odds are confusing, arbitrary and the kind of organizing device I'd expect from an EW story. 1:1,000,000 for Draper vs. 1:75 for Holloway? What does that even mean? Also odds are "on" or "against" not "of".
Why not just go for percentage probabilities in returning? Oh, right, because this whole thing is an exercise in your imagination. #madmen

The Daily Beast: The formation of the agency left a lot of characters in the wind. Have we seen the last of Ken, Paul, and Sal?
Weiner: I am going to say something that I don’t always say: I don’t know.
