@rgspb: Really? I'm not a Rosie fan and I get people not liking her, but she's been pretty successful. And yes, she's had some spectacular bombs, and perhaps she'll never match her prior level of success again, but she's been a "star" in daytime TV. It's not like she's a 15 minute-er clutching for another ten. That said, I have no desire to watch this show.

Does anybody else here remember a time when Barbara Walters was a news anchor and people actually discussed how intelligent and serious she had to be to get that position with Harry Reasoner? Do you know how many people put themselves professionally on the line for her to get that job? To see someone tapdance on the grave of their intellect and feminism at the same time and do it all while insisting she is quite venerable is just an insult.

It's like watch MLK do a commercial for Popeye's.

@wattznext: That Hepburn thing was in the 80's and the context of the conversation was that Hepburn initially stated she wanted to be a tree and BW responded "What kind of tree?" But I am really referring to the 70's Barbara when there was an actual debate about whether a woman had sufficient gravitas and intellect to anchor a network news program. By the 80's with all that celebrity interview worship crap her career started the nosedive into the crash and burn it is today.
