    I thought "pocketbooks" was such an odd choice of verbage for Glenn Beck until I realized the alternative was "...pretty much raping the purses of the rich to give to the poor," which was probably too titillating for the Fox News audience as deemed by their overlords.

    You could legalize rape and call it the Civil Rights Act of 2009, and it would probably pass?

    Um, what? Rush isn't just obsessed with rape, he thinks it should be legal. This is probably to get his friend Becky out of trouble for that now-famous 1990 incident.

    @naugahydeinplainsight: Bachmann did say that allowing the UAW to have a role in running GM was like forcing a rape victim to marry her rapist. It's not quite up to Rush's level, but you can't say she isn't trying.

    Here's the quote:
    "The UAW was a major reason why the companies hit the wall, and now the UAW will be rewarded with major control and ownership. It is as if a rape victim were forced to marry her rapist."

    Not screamy enough, really. I'm sure she'll figure it out in time.

    Rape=submission=NOT-BEING-IN-COMPLETE-CONTROL-OF-EVERYTHING. Not just your genitals, but also policy that doesn't personally affect you.

    They're really trying to promote this view that the world is filled with rapers and rapees, men and women, takers and suckers. Like this is some kind of uncivilized prison yard or something. FREAKS.

    @EasttoMidwest: Technically, yes, rape is not referring to genitals in a lot of these quotes but forced physical violation is the first thing that comes to mind when people say rape. Here, it's being used to exploit the word's immediate emotional response as a cheap way to get a point across.

    @VioletViolet: Don't you think that association is ... fascinating? That not being able to control everyone and everything is the equivalent top being violated?     Why hasn't Rush Limbaugh denied that he had to take Viagra, while in the Dominican Republic, so that he could GANG RAPE CHILDREN? And to make matters worse, he still has not told authorities where he buried the bodies of the children he may have GANG RAPED. Until medical examiners can see examine the bodies of hundreds of children that may have been buried by Rush Limbaugh himself, we can not know for sure if they were RAPED before they were murdered by Rush Limbaugh.

    This is a serious accusation that some people have made, and it's a questions that everyone should have answers to.
