In reply to The French Resistance to Yahoo's Cost-Cutting CEO
Watching this video, I was reminded that the beautiful French language is uniquely and supremely suited to bullshitting. So much so that they have a word for it--glossolalie, which means "the art of employing the maximum amount of fancy words to obfuscate actual meaning and communicate absolutely nothing."

    Vive la glossolalie!

I'd say this video is a perfect explanation of why Yahoo doesn't want to throw good Euros after bad.

@NerzzleintheVerzzle: I don't believe or disbelieve it. Forming even an educated guess would take a little more reading on the subject than I'm willing to do this morning. I was just trying to figure out what the initial post meant.

If I learned one thing living in Paris, it was that the French know how to protest. Thanks to the student shenanigans my street had metal walls up half the time and was constantly crawling with riot police! At least walking by their different highly creative protests every day was interesting to look at.

Nobody reads the classics no more? What has happened to literacy in America? Like, Alice B Toklas Brownies!

Plus, have you ever really looked at the veins in your hands? They say your destiny is all tied up in what great river is represented by your veins. It's true! Mine is a ringer for the Rio Grande!

Three episodes of ATWT on DVR + the "why on Earth was this marketed as a comedy?!" Sunshine Cleaning + watching two Iron Chefs go head-to-head (and seriously, does Cat Cora ever win?) + SNL + learning how candy canes and French's fried onions are made = serious TV overload. Off to bed--g'night all!

@DahlELama: Awwww....poor ATWT. So sad it's canceled. I watch every now and then for Maura West's Carly. I think she is the most gorgeous woman in the world and a great actress. Hope she finds work elsewhere.

Now home drunk from the firm Christmas party. Came to this thread to see if SNL was worth staying up and watching on the DVR, but I see there is very little commentary here about it. Oh what the hell....I'm going in!!!!

OK, granted I'm a little behind (still on Weekend Update), but so far this doesn't seem like the worst episode of SNL ever. Armisen aside, Update is funnier than it's been in weeks. I'm just praying for a Bon Jovi/Jon Bovi crossover...someone please tell me it's coming.
