The proudly idiotic web video lifestyle porn purveyors have been acquired by the good people at NBC. Specifically NBC's "Local Media Division" which seems like sort of a sad ghetto for such an ambitious group but LX.TV has been enriching viewers of New York's WNBC for some time now with their terrifying original content. Meet a new worst person in the world every week! It's seriously hypnotic. Anyway, New York is dead and now you can watch drunk i-bankers party on its corpse live on channel 4. [NBC Universal]

<![CDATA[Name Is New, Content Still Douchey]]>
When we heard Code.TV, your favorite source for nocturnal douchebaggery, relaunched as LX.TV ("Lifestyle Television"), we were not quite sure how to feel, given our hand in spreading its word.

On the one hand, we feel like a proud father, but on the one hand, there is a tinge of guilt over unleashing a monster into the world. But what is done is done. While the site looks exactly the same as before and the content remains the same, LX.TV has managed to pull in some recognizable faces. The almosthotbutnotreally SuChin Pak of MTV will interview the likes of Tim Gunn, who is featured in the latest video posted to the site.

The above video hints at more adventures of Pedro from the Happy Valley video, but alas, nothing new from A.J., whom the site's founder Morgan Hertzan calls "our Jessica Simpson". Hey, he's ours, too.

<![CDATA[Gawker Now Creating Content for NBC]]>
We briefly mentioned this as an update to our A.J. post from yesterday, but Code.tv founder Morgan Hertzan appeared on MSNBC's The Most to talk about the "Models and Bottles" video and to plug Code.tv. Nothing too earth shattering here, though Hertzan clarifies that "AJ is his real name, MSNBC exclusive" - that's the power of the mainstream media for ya.

As Hertzan points out, A.J. has plenty of defenders on Wall Street-y sites like BankersBall. And we sort of agree with "Converted AJ Disciple" who comments,

This guy does not belong in a cubicle

Get him in front of a camera and keep him there

Indeed, we are running out of material to run on MSNBC.

<![CDATA[This Is What We Are Up Against: Flatiron Edition]]>

More shocking footage from Code.tv, this time a few blocks east on 27th Street, where clubgoer Pedro Andrade ("Me and my friends, we were trying to run away from the Chelsea night life scene") and owner Fabrizio Brienza take us through Happy Valley. When our tipster says, "This guy makes AJ look like... less of an asshole," we are not sure if she is talking about Pedro or Fabrizio, but we agree completely.

As the kids at Jossip put it,

Says Pedro, in a dialect that is heretofor known as On A Scale Of One To Awesome, I'm The Shit: "We're waiting in line. But you know what? We're gonna cut it. ... I'm gonna show you how it's done. The line's over there, we're over here."

Highlights include Pedro in the DJ booth looking like he's achieved all he has ever wanted in life, and seeing more and more of Fabrizio's hair sweater revealed as the clip goes on.

<![CDATA[This Is What We Are Up Against]]>

We are not exactly sure what Code.tv is all about (tagline: Your source for privileged lifestyle intelligence), but Clublife directs us to a video promo for the nightclub Cain (tagline: i-bankers gone wild at NYC's most decadent nightclub).

In the two-minute video, our guide A.J., a 23-year-old "analyst at a large investment bank", takes us through a typical Thursday night ("night that we ball") at Cain. A.J. promises "models and bottles", assures us "we're just getting started", vouches for the guys he rolls with ("they're the real deal"), and describes pretty much everything as "hot" and/or "crazy".

Gather the kids around for this, they'll thank you later. Watch and weep.

<![CDATA[Code.tv to Rape Your Monitor]]> This morning was supposed to be special: according to Brandweek, today would mark the launch of Code.tv, an online television network aimed towards 25-49-year-old New Yorkers who earn $100K or more (i.e., suits and web entrepreneurs). Featuring aesthetically pleasing hosts, "Code.tv will show viewers new restaurants, nightclubs, and stores in New York and the Hamptons." Think Daily Candy meets Thrillist meets MUG meets YouTube meets migraine headaches.

But like any good party girl, Code.tv is running late:

Think of it as an act of a benevolent God, who hates the Meatpacking District and Ultra.Trance Vol. 5 just as much as you do.
