    neither here nor there, but just as a general wtf? bush's voice in the 9/11 conspiracy embedded clip is completely different than in the ep's initial run. (i know this because i was so full of frothing rage at 9/11 conspiracy people that I watched clips from that ep on youtube like 50 times.)


    i like the old version better -- the dialog is identical, but part of the joke the first time around was that bush didn't sound even remotely like bush (more like dr. evil, i guess) whereas this is just a sort of weak bush impression. not as funny!

    I'm thinking the best way to make Obama funny is to have a "That's My Bush" type show that has completely bullshit over-the-top caricatures of everyone. They should just repackage the whole formula from that show. But the racial humor would really get shit on unless it were made by blacks. I can think of one man for the job - Dave Chappelle.

    In unrelated news, the Solomon Islands have begun disappearing under the sea ahead of schedule. 1000 will be located to Papua New Guinea early next year, but a full third of the country's population has announced that they would rather drown than leave the only home they have ever known.

    How lovely. As self-professed conservative libertarians, Parker and Stone have consistently had a huge blind spot when it comes to their own idiotic contrarian ideology. South Park is often incredibly funny, but when their toxic political beliefs start to creep into the show it becomes a tedious demonstration of the smug armchair quarterbacking typical of libertarians. Why go after Obama supporters when Joe the Fucking Plumber is still lingering in the air like a noxious burp?

    2. Constantly referring to our president as our "commander-in-chief," double ugh. It's an awful practice, for reasons the Greenwald lays out here. Basically: the prez is not your commander in chief unless you're in the army; also, it's authoritarian bullshit. It's part of the culture that dictates you can't question our president because we're at war. Thus, I wish Media Types would quit tossing that term around. It's irresponsible, it enables those who wish to curtail our freedoms.

    @Peoplefamiliarwith: that was a great episode. I didn't realize SP split their seasons with a huge break in between. The Indy Jones and the two-parter with the fucking guinea pigs were painfully unfunny.
