@JacquesPaysan: Lord, I hated that dress on election night [images.google.com] and thought we were finally through with it. Though I will say it works better on mini-Michelle.
@JacquesPaysan: Black and red were the colors that you were supposed to wear when a black person was finally elected President (for those in the african-american community).
No, I'm not making this up. Had always heard it talked about, but not many actually did it on the day after Obama was elected.
the spider-man "clone saga" of the 90's was an abomination... back in 73 there was a story of peter being cloned by an old college professor.... so first they try to tell us that the peter parker we'd been following for 20 years was a clone, and the real peter somehow thought he wasn't. to clean it up they tell us the original green goblin, another figure long since "dead", was behind it all. after collecting 30 years of spider-man, that's when i left.
in the old marvel universe, dead was DEAD. no loose ends to figure out. i think that's why marvel's stories were superior to the chaos of the DC universe. DC's characters were spread all over and they went to ridiculous lengths to bring together what marvel had from day one.
death is a part of life, and i loved marvel for keeping true to the permant loss we have to deal with.... now it seems that comic book characters are just personalities, free to exploit and explore in infinite alternate time and universes.
how embarrassing.. after reading that entire article and crafting a reply ... i realize that they talk about just big disasters, not disasters in the sense of bad plots, though the infinite universe saga was quite silly...
Yes, this sounds so interesting and new: nothing like Hellboy or any of the umpteen other failed graphic novel adaptations. And I'm sure it will be a departure from Ritchie's grown-up-kids-palying-tough-guys oevre.
@DennyCrane: Yes, Spawn still seems to be under the Fox ownership.. so that is still out there,..but it doesnt seem to have much going on now, big screen-wise
I was wondering about those anti-trust laws as well. Seems like most of the stuff we studied in film school i.e. a certain amount of separation between companies, appears to have disappeared into one big mouse trap.
