The irony is that this morning I was at a marketing seminar at Google's offices where industry experts discussed marketing in a down economy and how the answer is not to make drastic budget cuts.

The ad was ridiculing IBM, not corporate customers. Jobs wanted those customers to start using the Macintosh, hoping to steer people away from IBM's single-minded ideas about tech culture.

Enterprise sales have likely fallen due to the economy. The jobs of salesmen are contingent on their being able to make sales. Perhaps Apple will hire more enterprise salesmen when the lemmings are running again.
