    What got Friedman fired was his repetitive habits of "making friends" with you, then betraying your trust and insulting you, or a project you held dear, in his colulmn. He was constantly on the prowl for diner and lunch invites so he could get a paparazzi shot with a celebrity, or put it in his column next day. When those didn't come, he'd stamp his foot, fly into a snit and pound his keyboard till he felt better.

    Roger, learn the logic. If you're acid, people regurgitate you. Eventually, networks regurgitate you. You're so toxic that someday your office chair will eject you. Ptheh!
