I have a lot of rachmones for these girls. No matter how fancy they dress, how much money they spend on their clothing, they will never resemble adult women. The men they attract must be horrific.
When one's purse trumps ones head in majesty, it is just a tragic day.
Put these two in a wine press and squeeze really hard and you don't get a shot glass' worth of anything keeping.
Their talent? Parlaying their insurmountable advantage of being born in a time when mediocrity (that is the most generous use of the word I can muster) is celebrated as being noteworthy.
Take away that advantage and what do you have? Two more counter-girls at the make-up counter at Target, spritzing you with the latest scent.
@TheSometimesWhy: I can't believe I'm about to defend not one but two of the Olsen twins but... for people who dress so badly in real life, their Elizabeth & James clothing line is made of awesome. Love it.
@Atilla the Bun: Dear woman, as someone devoted to dressing badly in life (it's just easier that way, trust me--I've done the research), I appreciate your insight. Keep in mind, the twins have thus far neglected the middle-aged male demographic for purposes of their fashion line.
This is an understandable/forgivable omission. Although my sources tell me they have in the works what is tentatively being called their "Frik and Frak Line" of clothing, which gives men like me a reason to live, if not to hope.
oh, flame away at me, but I love the olsen girls. I find their fashion to be rather fun (yes, I alone loved garbage chic) and think they're brilliant business women.
i think it's ashley on the left, MK on the right. in junior high my friend and i would page through an MK and A calender we both had and would figure out which twin was which. i guess i am rusty...and no longer 13.
The "hero" of the Jayson Blair saga was a woman who Landman foisted Blair off on to try to get him to get his shit together. She is the one who told Landman that Blair shouldn't work for the Times. Landman took the glory and the woman was demoted to copy editor, where she remains today.
